Module 1: Philanthropy, Charity & Giving
Module 1 provides an introduction to the concepts of philanthropy and charity. After a brief description of the history of charity and a discussion of the benefits of charitable giving, sources of nonprofit funding are considered along with strategies for evaluating and selecting a charitable organization to support. Finally, three main forms of giving are examined, and—using the CCG Alliance™ Plan for Certified Charitable Giving—a blueprint for integrating charitable giving into a business plan is developed. We conclude with lessons on how become an effective charitable giver.
